Garzell & Company was founded on a simple belief: the things we choose to keep, give, and pass down should mean something.
The name Garzell comes from two people who helped shape my life—my grandparents, Garland and Ozella. Though they never would have imagined their names becoming part of a company, the values they lived by are woven into everything we do.
They were hardworking people who loved their family, served their neighbors, and understood that a person’s reputation is built one interaction at a time. Long before I understood business, they were teaching lessons that still guide this company today.

The Story Behind the Name
Garland and Ozella believed in showing up, working hard, and doing what was right even when no one was watching. They taught by example, and many of life’s most important lessons were learned simply by spending time around them.
When it came time to build this company, I wanted a name that honored those lessons and the people who taught them. Garzell & Company is a tribute to their legacy and a reminder of the values we strive to uphold every day.
Lessons Learned on a Front Porch
One of my earliest memories is helping load watermelons into the backs of pickup trucks.
My grandmother Ozella sold watermelons from a front porch that had been built specifically for that purpose. As a child, I remember being amazed that people would travel from other states just to buy watermelons from our family.
I didn’t understand how they knew where to come.
She explained that when people saw signs advertising those watermelons, they already knew what that meant. They knew they were getting some of the sweetest watermelons around. Families would make the trip year after year because they trusted what they would find when they arrived.
Looking back, I realize they weren’t just buying watermelons.
They were buying trust.
They were buying consistency.
They were buying the confidence that someone would treat them right.
Those lessons have stayed with me my entire life.
Treat People the Way You Want to Be Treated
Another lesson I learned growing up was simple.
Treat people the way you want to be treated.
My family often reminded me not to get too stirred up because we never know when we may find ourselves on the “need” end of the stick. Life has a way of humbling all of us eventually.
That belief continues to guide how we serve customers today.
We don’t see people as order numbers.
We see them as neighbors.
Whether someone places a small order or a large one, we want every interaction to reflect the same respect, honesty, and kindness that we would hope to receive ourselves.
A Legacy of Service
Long before I understood the meaning of service, I watched family members share what they had. Gardens, livestock, and hard work weren’t just ways to provide for our own family. They were ways to help neighbors when help was needed.
Those quiet acts of generosity taught me that success isn’t measured only by what we keep, but also by what we’re willing to give.
Service has always been part of our family’s story.
For many years I have served my community as a paramedic, helping people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. My husband Greg has spent more than three decades serving as a volunteer firefighter.
Those experiences taught us something important.
People remember how you make them feel.
They remember who showed up when life became difficult.
They remember the people who cared enough to help.
Garzell & Company was built with that same mindset.
We may not be responding to emergencies here, but we are helping people celebrate milestones, honor loved ones, preserve memories, and recognize the people who matter most.
Why Personalized Gifts Matter
I still remember receiving personalized pencils and T-shirts when I was young.
They weren’t expensive.
They weren’t extravagant.
But they made me feel special.
Someone had taken the time to create something just for me.
That feeling has never left.
Today, every personalized item we create is designed with that same purpose in mind—to help someone feel seen, remembered, appreciated, and loved.
Because often it isn’t the object itself that matters most.
It’s the meaning attached to it.
Plant the Seed and Pray Hard
My father often reminded me that when rain is coming, you still have to plant the seed. Then you pray hard and trust God with the harvest.
Over the years, I’ve learned that lesson applies to far more than farming. It applies to families, service, business, and life itself. We do our part faithfully, trust God with the outcome, and keep moving forward.
That mindset continues to shape how we approach Garzell & Company today.
